dub-ito is a new label born from the long time friendship of the southern italian duo claudio mate and francesco mazocco (defrag). the funny name of the label is a mix coming from playing with a few words from different languages while talking about music, giving a unique outcome. straight uncompromised beats meet proper dub-techno landscapes, with a special deeper remix version by fabrizio lapiana.

cafe lanai is a duo in paradise. friendship and music at once led vocalists/producers michael brock and forever to adventure together to pahoa, hawaii. originating with the absorption of tropical sounds and antiquated island imagery, the project made a sweet, sweet double espresso debut with their deep first single lanai. on their debut paradise ep, cafe lanai enlists the spirit of humid rainforests and black sand beaches, imploring you to close your eyes and throw your body to the beat.

a labour of love and friendship, the camila ep contains two finely-worked originals. the slow, loping, scratchy jnd is a collaboration with close friend jürgen von krebs that brings to mind stl and theo parrish in its interlocking simplicity and off-key accents. ricky g. (soulmate mix) is a smoother, more wistful glide, paying tribute to the lady in st. josephs life. finally, giegling-affiliated dreamer edward provides his own psychedelic take on jnd, twisting the synth line through a battery of live percussion samples and analog bass. dusty, wonky, raw, musical – words synonymous with the great 3 chairs, but totally apt for describing st. josephs growing discography on lisbon-based imprint assemble music. vinyl only.

white asega co-­owner jack dixon wrote new curtains after a friend who was coming wildly off the rails told him he was a good producer but his tunes were boring. the original version was really sparse and about 300bpm. when jack moved to new york the parts got lost, so he remade the track a dozen times. this was the version we all liked best, although jack never wants to hear it again in his life. it sounds tough and tropical. our friend troy gunner remixed it, and turned it into something so loud and slamming it will knock your teeth out. after telling jack to stop making boring music, mark kodiak spent two horrendous years working with jamie kodiak on a song they ve called taargus. it nearly destroyed their friendship forever but we think it was worth it. it has brutal weapon sounds, nasty snares and an incessant “yo” that has been described as “annoying and unnecessary”. the artist tom pounder has created a blinding video for it that contains brand new colours. french born bass genius bambounou stepped up to remix the track, taming the wild stems into a hypnotic early­morning house stepper. it took us approximately 2000 exhausting facebook group chats, four cross­atlantic flights and one divorce to get to this point. we hope you will enjoy this record for the rest of your lives. rip ken tulley.
